The temple was later expanded to commemorate King Naresuan’s historic victory over the Burmese army in 1592, when he famously fought in an elephant-back duel. The temple’s name translates to “Temple of the Great Victory.”
• The highlights of the temple include its impressive main chedi (stupa), rows of serene Buddha statues, and the magnificent reclining Buddha image. The outdoor reclining Buddha stretches approximately 28 meters in length.
